swinging suburbs

yes, we have a cute tree swing for our kids... but this post is really about a situation that I found myself in at TJ Maxx on Mother's day morning.  I went shopping to have some alone time which is all too rare for me -my mother's day present to myself- and then it happened.  I started to feel the eyes.  You know when someone is watching you.  Finally, a man approaches me and starts some small talk saying how he's seen me around like at the local Kroger (you know the cool hang out spot), and asks me if I'm married, the usual let's get the formalities out of the way type of thing.  So when I reply yes, he asks me if it's been for a long time, do I have kids, etc.  So he finally says ok, see you around and I go about my shopping.  About 2 minutes later, (ok, this is the GOOD PART) he comes back and says I promise this is the last that i will bother you, but I'm married too, yeah I have a 3 year old and just continues to smile and try to look charming.  As if to say, hey, it's ok, we're both married, so that makes it perfectly fine that I'm trying to start something with you!!  So when I leave he cruises by in his brand new orange Mustang and waves with his super charming big smile.  Seriously?  I think that was one of the strangest situations that I've ever found myself in.  I didn't know I had moved into such a swinging suburb.
